Solving Linear Equations
- Multiply both sides by the Least Common Denominator (LCD) to reduce fractions.
- Use the Distributive Property to remove parentheses.
- Combine Like Terms
- Use Addition or Subtraction to move all the variable terms to the same side (Left Side).
- Use Addition or Subtraction to move all the non-variable terms (number terms) to the other side (Right Side).
- Divide both sides by the Coefficient.
Possible results when solving a Linear Equation:
- Variable = number
Examples
x = -2
y = 0
